Questions

What is film gear management software?

A place to keep track of the equipment you own: what it is, what it's worth, what you charge for it, which job it's on, and who has it. Aestro does that inside the same workspace as your projects and invoices, so gear on a job can be billed without retyping it.

Is Aestro's gear tracker free?

Yes. The gear library, gear lists, sharing, and billing gear on invoices are part of the free plan.

Can I import my existing gear spreadsheet?

Yes. Import gear CSV brings in name, category, description, quantity, day rate, week rate, and replacement value. There's a template to download.

Can I track serial numbers and replacement value?

Yes. Each item can have a serial number, a replacement value, a day rate, and a week rate, along with its category and quantity.

Is it only for film crews?

No. Photographers, audio engineers, event crews, and anyone who owns kit use it. Categories adapt to the work, and you can add your own items however you organize them.

Can clients or productions request my gear?

Yes. Your public rental request page lists the gear you choose to show, and visitors pick dates and items and send you a request. See the gear rental page for details.
